Wisconsin Republican Rep. Van Orden is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL …. He shoved tubby (Gaetz) aside in coming to Johnson’s defense.

“I’m a retired Navy Seal, and Navy Seals only go places with a swim buddy, and the speaker didn’t have a swim buddy,” Van Orden told CNN, recounting the exchange. “So he didn’t ask me to come over there. I went and was his swim buddy.”

The speculation of nepotism (assuming that is what this is) seems unfair. USNA has, at least, some control over its offers of appointment even in instances of a PNOM. And, even if he got a PNOM, it would not mean that he had not earned it (or tell us who gave it to him).

Assuming CNN got it right, congrats to the young man. Nobody should be impugning him (or his father) for the desire to serve. And, if the Congressman is proud of his son for deciding to attend USNA (and serve), it definitely makes him somewhat relatable to me.

Was trying to be a bit lighthearted/funny with it due to all the NOM stress of past few weeks but obviously missed my mark. Apologies to all who were offended.

If he can hold on to the Speaker’s job, you might see Secret Service Agents hanging out, in and around, the Yard …. Johnson is 2nd in line to the Presidency after all.

Friday, my primary care doc gave a clean bill of health and this latest funding motivated me more, so 23 months to prep.

... initially not planning to attend '28 I-Day, but 50/50 now.

... please if you're publishing the next edition of "Profiles in Courage," then just maybe include Mr. Johnson.

Especially with all the flak from his own party. It's good that the House got something passed concerning foreign policy.
 
This post needs pulled down. The post calls out Mids and future Mids by name and for some even identifies their Company.

And it adds nothing to the mission/purpose of this forum.
 
And it specifically identifies someone about to enter the special warfare community
