I do not like velcro tapes as they need to be constantly fixed especially when having an assault pack/ruck on and off. But I have never seen a cadet in ACU with anything sewn on. Am I permitted to bring my own uniform with sewn on tapes and badges for the Beast? How about during the academic year?

During academic year--everyone will be too busy to notice--and yes you can and should wear what you have earned.
For Beast, I strongly recommend doing what everyone else does with the velcro name tapes--because they are on the packing list...or if you have a prior service liaison with whom you are working--that would be a more targeted spot to ask this question.

Not necessarily. My DD had to remove her airborne wings and combat patch for the first part of Beast. Once she went to the field she was permitted to wear them.
I’ll ask her what she did.

You know @UHBlackhawk while it worked for your girl, I question what is being achieved by: keep the wings, remove the combat patch...seems that there should be really clear guidance: to in stripped or go in with the full uniform. I hope the original poster is able to get the clarity he deserves from one of the authorities. I think it is the idea of removing the combat patch, my inner voice says, "Take it from me." Why have one item that was earned without others? Now i am waxing philosophically...not helpful to the OP.

... and it is a good idea to bring an extra set of ACUs or two if you have them. Although you are issued several sets, there are no guarantees that all of them will be ready for you during Beast. DS did not received all of his issued sets at the beginning. After a while he was smelling quite ripe, and his cadet leader urged him to have us send him his ACUs from ROTC from the previous year.

Funny story....when I was a cow my roomate had a friend from back home who was the same age but prior service so he was a plebe (and in a different company that us). Beast 1 cadre thought he was too chilled out so they were pretty hard on him. He finally put his CIB and Ranger tab on the last day of Beast 1. Cadre left him alone after that.

One cannot judge a book by its cover.
