United States Naval Academy Nomination Status Update Notification

My DS received and email today from USNA Admissions and the subject was "United States Naval Academy Nomination Status Update Notification", but there was actually noting in the email. He checked his Candidate Portal and the nomination section still say None Received. Can anyone explain what this email was that he got? Anyone ever see anything like this before?

Are you sure it did not read "United States Naval Academy Application Status Update Notification"? This is the email my DD got when she received her LOA last week.... have your DS check his application status on his portal.

Nope, the exact subject was "United States Naval Academy Nomination Status Update Notification". My DS did check his portal and saw no change.

Maybe your DS should give a call to admissions tomorrow for clarification.

I am a candidate to the class of 2022. I received that exact same email today as well. In the email, it said that the Academy had been notified that I had applied for the Vice Presidential nomination, and that they will keep that under consideration. It was just an update email telling me that they know I applied to the VP nomination. That was what your email was probably about too?

That usually means their VP nomination application was received.

No, I did not send any letters of recs for the VP nomination.
