Updated Portal After Defferal

Has anyone who has been deferred seen an update in their portal? After receiving the decision that I was deferred in my portal, I wonder when my portal will update to show that I am back in consideration for regular admissions. On my checklist it still says "CEEB Review Complete-- Decision Available".
 
Others have related in other similar threads that deferred candidates most likely won’t hear anything until March in order to give USCGA admissions a chance to compare them to the regular decision applicants, which makes sense.

They have been amazing at keeping my DD updated. A few days ago admissions reached out to her to let her know she will hear something pretty close to the April 1st deadline. I don't think the portal will update before then. If she gets accepted the coach already told her she'll hear from him before anything on the portal changes.

I'm fairly confident nothing will happen with that check list. Common for it not to update at all until after a decision had been communicated. Since all your boxes are checked, I highly doubt they will uncheck and then recheck. The checklist is more of a novelty than anything.

Can we be confident that everything submitted will go before the board? More specifically, some things (1st semester grades & transcript, essay) were emailed to AO and LT Nelson per the instructions...but with no acknowledgement of receipt by AO, even after specifically asking for a confirmation. Other items like two updated PFEs and a new LOR were uploaded directly thru the application page. Again, no response to the request for confirmation of receipt. Not a complaint about AO, just a bit concerned because this means a lot...
 
Is there a sport you would be playing? In my daughter's case the coach has been keeping a line of communication open and keeping her updated as well as the AO.

No sport so no coach to help cross Ts and dot Is...

Same issue here for my DS. Has emailed request for receipt 3 times. Has called twice (left voicemails) and texted once and cannot get a confirmation that his materials for reevaluation have been received. He’s anxious that his submission of materials may have been missed. Suggestions?

Try reaching out to Mr. Beckwith in USCGA Admissions.

Son has copied him on every correspondence regarding his early decision getting deferred for another look during regular decision.

Son has always received confirmation email from Mr. Beckwith regarding documentation being received and added to his application.

Just curious how you were able to add another LOR to the application? There were no spots left for my son. Did you leave one empty during EA?

I would make sure you let your AO know you uploaded new documents.

Hoping you get confirmation. My son heard back the first week in Feb. from his AO and from LT Nelson that his record was updated with the new materials he submitted and he would hear back by April 1st with an admission update. This past week the coach who is recruiting him reached out for an updated AP Calc grade (bc he was making progress) and said he was submitting a new report.

Keeping fingers crossed for all 🙏

The View Application button was active and he was able to add new Providers, both for PFEs as well as a LOR. Mr. Beckwith guided him to do that. The button is no longer live, though the AIM button is (but of no use now...).

I second the Mr. Beckwith angle. He's the guy to whom the AOs send documents. He's historically good about responding too.

It's also my understanding that anything admissions may receive, such as additional LORs, whether via email or snail mail, will go in their packet for review.

I'm in the same boat. I've sent 2 follow-up emails, called multiple times, and left voice mails for both of them. Still nothing. Ugg

My DS finally got a confirmation today by emailing Mr. Beckwith. Thanks to the person that made that suggestion! It seems his file was not complete so it’s good he was persistent.

Yes! I just emailed Mr. Beckwith as well. I also realized that I hadn't been in contact with my coach since I was deferred (******* move) so I emailed him as well.

When my daughter was notified, I don't think anything in her portal ever changed- and she did not receive a phone call until March 27.
 
Son emailed his AO this evening requesting guidance as to how things proceed for the reconsideration after providing the documentation requested in their 12/21/23 early action deferral letter.

Maybe USCGA needs to tweak the portal for applicants who applied early action and were deferred for another look?
