USAFA Application deadline

Hi, I'm a parent of a high school senior who is in candidate stage for the USAFA application. I received an email from the USAFA admission office to remind me the deadline is November 7th. But I don't see such a date from the USAFA admission website. So I am confused. Besides the nomination applications are still on. So what the Nov 7th is really for? Thank you!

I believe this year it's more like rolling admissions, and I recall that's exactly how they described it in my letter. My deadline is November 1st. The nomination piece is not part of this. Good luck to your high school senior!
 
If you HS senior got Nov 7th email deadline, then it’s for everything to be submitted by that deadline except for Nomination. My DD is Nov 1st, she has everything except CFA, interview and essay. She will get her essays submitted this weekend and then be ready for ALO interview.
 
4 months from the date your child became official applicant. Their portal should have the 4 month date all over the place. My DD is Nov 1 and it now shows green that she has met her deadline.

or medical and Evaluator interview must at least be scheduled

Oh I was not aware of the evaluator interview part. So what you are saying is that it must be scheduled, not necessarily completed. I will have my DD confirm with admissions also. Thank you for the info.

Thank you all for the information! My son is missing an interview and an essay. I will let him know these.
 
submit the essay then the evaluator should populate... at least for my DD Sunday it did
 
Same for us. Once all the black checkmarks are present on the grid, then the portal updates. Can't remember if it happen immediately or took 24 hours to refresh. For us, when it updated, it indicated that the candidate had met the first deadline (Nov 1 for us) and he could continue in the process. There is a recent thread (last two weeks I think) that discusses the stages of the portal updates - if you can find that, that might be helpful too. (I would post a link for you here but I'm not sure how to do that...)

my DD plans to submite essays this weekend, CFA scheduled for monday.
Anybody knows if USAFA allows another take of CFA after the deadline?

i have seen recent threads about CFA retake notifications. i believe they give a new deadline if retake needed.
 
Is there any rhyme or reason to the application deadline? Like do they want the kids they really want in first to have the November 1st deadline? I thought we were timely on everything, but we have a 1/31 date. His application is officially complete as of yesterday.

Yes, i did read that. It just didn't seem to align with my memory or the letter from USAFA admisions. He was promoted to candidate July 4, so I would expect a November 30 deadline. It may be because he had two files open, and they merged them in October, so that may explain the January deadline. They will look at it sooner, though, right? I really don't care about the posted deadline. I just want to see if he has a chance to be reviewed in one of the first batches, so we can manage expectations.
