USAFA Appointee Tour

Are you invited to this tour if you have already accepted? I would love to go just to see and learn more but is it only offered to undecided appointees?

It is for all Appointees (whether accepted or undecided). I believe some of the tours were before the acceptance deadline and others were after.

I don't think that is the case for the FVE, as I was selected for the upcoming one in February but have yet to receive an appointment

Is the Appointees' tour more thorough than the regular cadet-guided campus tour? In the regular tour we did get to see Mitch's, a classroom, a dorm room, the lobby of the library, some athletic facilities (this part was self-guided).

FYI wear good walking shoes; you will be on your feet a LOT. And be prepared - 7200 ft leaves you gasping even just walking. Bring a refillable water bottle and hydrate plenty.

FVE and Appointee Tour are two completely different events. In the past, FVE occur the Spring of the junior year in high school or the fall of the applicants senior year.

Not sure if it is more thorough, but it occurs when the Cadets are there and the Appointees get some interaction with current Cadets. So Appointees get more of a "feel" for Cadet life vs. just visiting without classes in session. However, keep in mind that the Appointee Tours are after Recognition so USAFA is much more relaxed for the Doolies (ie. freshman).
