Congrats to your son! My son received his today and we are also in Thornberry's district. It is nice to know there is someone else close by who will be starting school with him.
 
For all those still waiting, keep faith and keep praying for the correct path to be laid out before you. We felt relief today with the portal update to appointee, but considering the emotions we went through holding on to today, our heart feels for those still in that boat. God speed to all!

When my husband and I were still dating he had a Naval Academy Appointment and ROTC Scholarship. Failed a hearing test two weeks before they started and lost both of them. He didn't have a plan B as his ROTC was his plan B at that time. I kept thinking about that during the waiting - both wanting my son to get an appointment and knowing if he didn't that perhaps there was another path he was meant to take. For my husband, his other path lead to a 25+ Army Reserve career, us being married for 25 years, 4 great kids.... I have often wondered where we would be if he had passed the first hearing test rather than the later one.
 
It's been 14 months to the day since submitting his application and we got an email early this morning of his appointment and portal update. We couldn't be more excited to be a part of this forum and congrats to all who have appointments and those who will be getting their's soon.
 
I have been up since the early morning hours waiting for my DS (who is in another country on Spring Break) to wake up and check his portal. And he just did! I am in tears. These kids have worked so hard for this. I would have been so incredibly proud no matter the outcome, but I'm so happy for him that he got the appointment! Praying for those of you still waiting.
