USAFA Class of 2021 Appointments

:)I have been curious as to what indicators signal there are only a few appointments left (I have read this on several posts)...I have counted about 120 on this forum, about 150 on the Parent's FB page and if they gave 500 IC appointments...seems like there might be more than a few left in the coming weeks...am I missing the obvious? Working hard to keep the glass half full :)

I sense a portal update coming next Wednesday based on @Allywarner3's post.
Sure hope you're right. We could use a little upbeat news. DS got the TWE from the USNA about 2 weeks ago and then another this morning from the USCGA. Still holding onto some hope here, but it gets harder as each day passes and you see others getting appointments. But, regardless of the outcome, I am super proud of all of his accomplishments. It's been a long ride and he has done some tremendous things academically, athletically, and through the Civil Air Patrol. Especially proud that he got presented with the Carl A Spaatz award. Only 0.5% of CAP Cadets will ever see that award, and less than 2,200 have earned it since 1964. He also won cadet of the Year at the Squadron, Wing, and Region levels. So, if he gets a TWE from the USAFA, he can hold his chin up knowing he's given it his all and we move onto Plan B.

@RickD_USAF I am still rooting for your DS. I hope USAFA finds him. It seems like lots of highly competitive applicants are being turned away by the academies this year. Whatever the outcome, we as parents know that our DS/DD have achieved/accomplished beyond their parents/peers going through the process. Good luck.

Absolutely! Hard working young man that's for sure! My son has a friend in school that got the TWE from the Coast Guard as well. Our TWE from NA came earlier this week. He did get an AFROTC scholarship as a plan B to VA Tech. These kids need to be very proud of their accomplishments, I sure know we are proud parents!

Yeah thats really awesome though! And Wednesday of next week or the one that just passed?
