USAFA Class of 2022 Appointment Thread

Wi Mom of USAFA 2022 candidate here. DD hasn't heard anything yet, and remains calm on the surface, but don't say hello to her or look at her funny... She fears that if they if they really wanted her, they would have told her by now. She logically knows that there is a lot that goes into the selection process that she could never fathom at this point, but that doesn't make her feel better. We wonder how many of us are still waiting, as we watch the appointment thread get longer...

MA momma still crossing our fingers! I read in the paper about a re-applicant from another local town that was offered AF appt along with WP and USNA. He chose USNA, so does that mean the local MOCs slate is still a possibility? How does that work?

Well the first time around our DS was notified through his portal on March 16 (he is class of 2020). His MOC did not notify him ahead of time and when he was notified at 6:30 in the AM while trying to get ready for school he was a bit surprised. He actually had his plan B in place was ready to go ahead with that. This time our DS has heard nothing but our 2020 cadet has assured him there is still time. He knows quite a few people who received appointments last minute. While he admits a lot of candidates receive their appointments in March there are still quite a few to be handed out in April not including more USAFA Prep School appointments and Falcon Foundation scholarships. My DS candidate is holding up better than I am and knows it is out of his control now. He has done all he can and now he can only hope for the best. He is enjoying his senior year. As a mom who wants him to have him to have the same opportunities as her older DS it is hard BUT I am trying to focus on all the good things that have been happening to him lately and I know he will be successful in what ever is to follow. Thank you. This is helpful. I don't believe my son will be able to go to Plan B or C, until he has heard from his Plan A, if that makes any sense. I realize that only about 10% are posting on this site, but I still have trouble understanding why the notifications have been trickling out the past two weeks. Like you said, harder on the parents.

Speaking from what we have experienced, my DS was denied last week from USNA, still a candidate for WP and USAFA. I have not seen anyone denied on this thread, but I have on the other SA threads.
