USAFA Criminal Records Release

I was offered an appointment for the class of 2024 and one of the forms that needs to be submitted was the "Criminal Records Review Notice/Release" and it clearly states it must be completed no later than March 24. I sent it to USAFA via mail and the tracking information states that it was delivered March 16 however on my portal it is still listed as "It has not yet been processed by USAFA". Does it need to be submitted AND processed by March 24 or does it just need to be submitted by March 24? What will happen if it is not processed by the deadline?

You should be good. My DS has many items marked as receive, but not yet processed. I would recommend you try to do more of your paperwork electronically.

They won't even have all of the appointment offers out by then so just keep checking the status

You were also allowed to scan and email it to the academy. I did that and they were about to receive and process it within 24 hours.

When DS received the appointment he also received the "Criminal Records Review Notice/Release", he printed it, signed it, scanned it and emailed it and got a confirmation email back. When the portal showed the list of outstanding items as appointee, he uploaded the same form he sent before and submitted it. Do the same and you'll be covered.
