I have been waiting for a waiver since November and still haven't received one yet. When I first failed the DODMERB (for an injury 6 years ago) it said to check my academy portal if they start a waiver but other thread here have said to check the DODMERB website. I went to click on the link of DODMERB.tricare.osd.mil but says this website can't be reached. Did DODMERB switch sites? What am I suppose to do about this waiver? Thank you!

I just clicked on the DODMERB site link as you wrote above and it does work. Have you ever logged into DODMERB yet?. What is the status there?, does it say Under Waiver Review?

If the system is still working the same as it did last year, you should receive a letter from admissions if they have requested a waiver on your behalf.

My DS is waiting for medical waiver due to Astigmatism (>3) for USNA . It has been almost a month since the portal says under medical waiver review. He has sent a letter to Mr. Mullen. Any advice what else he should be doing? Thank you in advance!

According to a conversation I had with USNA admissions, USNA is only giving waivers to those they will be offering appointments.

This is true I think for USNA but USAFA offers them if they think you are competitive
Correct, USAFA and USMA give waivers according to the applicants competitive status. USNA is only offering a waiver to those who will be receiving an appointment.

Thank you so much for the input! How do we know if they are considering the waiver? If he hasn’t received any request for additional information which we don’t know what additional is needed for astigmatism, does that mean the waiver review process has not been initiated? We were told USNA only offer competitive candidates medical examination. The medical clearance is the last piece he is waiting for.

Here is a message my DS got at the end of Jan regarding medical examination. At that point he has received and finished medical examination request. I am kind of anxious and confused at this point 🙈

Hello everyone, I asked the office of admissions about the USNA requesting a medical since they have had no action for a while. Here is the response they gave me: "Due to a system change, we had to be very specific with requesting medical examinations for this admissions cycle. As such, we have only been requesting medical examinations for candidates who are for sure getting an offer of appointment to USNA or one of our preparatory programs. If a candidate does not receive a medical examination (or medical waiver), this does not mean that the candidate is not competitive for admissions; rather, we do not have an offer lined up for the candidate at this time." Since it's getting pretty late in the admissions cycle, I think I am probably not going to make it. I wanted to share this because I know some of you are in my position for the medical situation. Good luck everyone and have a great night.

"If" he followed instructions, I did not receive it. I just sorted thru 2,035 emails on "worryfree2026" in my IN, SENT, and 1-15 Mar.
It came up empty. There's a method to my madness in the instructions below:wiggle:

Appointments will still be coming out well into May, and some in June. Tell your DS to keep his head up. It's not over until you receive a TWE.
