USAFA prep school acceptances

Has anyone received an acceptance into the prep school? And can some one explain how prep school acceptances work. How are they given out? I received a nomination and a recommendation for the prep school. Does a recommendation for the prep school guarantee an acceptance into the prep school and do they commonly give out recommendations in mass amounts or is it rare to receive a prep school rec. thanks

You don’t apply to the prep school, but all applications are considered for the prep school. Also, you can’t receive a nomination to the prep school and a recommendation probably wouldn’t help. Most appointments come out in March so just stay patient.

You will get notified on the USAFA portal if you get accepted to the prep school. I doubt a nomination to the prep school will get guarantee you. Also, USAFA's prep school are mostly reserved for enlisted Airmen and athletes. If you don't fall into either of those categories I wouldn't put your heart out on relying on a prep school acceptance.
