Has anyone heard from the Air Force Academy yet about summer seminar? Thanks!
 
Thanks. Just wondering because I just saw a post from a HS junior about USAFA SS acceptance.

That's what I recall from my DS's experience.

He received an email notification on Feb 13, 2016. The email notification was sent something like at 4 am (it must have been computer generated).

I can confirm what Padre said. I believe there was a wave of admittances/waitlists that morning. I believe there may have been a few more acceptances later.
 
This morning I was moved to 'applicant,' so I'm guessing from here it's either an acceptance or denial.
 
I submitted my application on 12/20 and my status was moved to 'applicant' 2-3 days later if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure that status changes happen at different times for everybody, though. It seems that some people submitted their application on the day it opened but just recently got 'applicant' status. I'm not positive that this is how it works, but it's just something I've noticed.

Does your application say under consideration.

Or does it just say applicant.

I don't believe any applicants have been accepted yet. The application I submitted on the 12th says "Applicant (your application is under consideration)," so I think the admissions board is now reviewing all of the applications and will be sending out either acceptances or denials in February. They send an email. I got my acceptance email Feb 13th so it will probably be around that time.

It is really fun and worthwhile to go. You learn a lot from your Cadre and make great friends. I'm still in touch with my roomate, element and element leader. There are also different speakers that come talk about leadership and life at the academy. Also the campus is beautiful, I loved waking up and doing PT with a great view of mountains. If you want to go to USAFA this is something you should do your best to attend.
