Hello SA Forums,

I figured I'd post this just for those who are wondering, because when I was under waiver consideration I was curious for the same thing and I only saw one of them posted. Here's my timeline from exam submission to Waiver approval.

I submitted my exam on Jan 12th to DODMERB.
An AMI was requested from DODMERB on Jan 20th, which I fulfilled on Jan 26th, with receipt acknowledged by DODMERB on Jan 31st.
I was medically disqualified for history of anterior knee pain (runner's knee) on Feb 8th.
A waiver was requested by USAFA on Feb 13th.
An additional AMI, in the form of a consult was given by the USAFA waiver authority on Feb 15th.
I submitted the AMI on Feb 23rd to DODMERB.
I got medically cleared 2 weeks later on March 7th.

1 month and 2 weeks from exam submission to disqualification to waiver approval. I hope this inspires some confidence for some people.

Thanks.
DS was DQ and the USAFA asked for a waiver last week. The USNA and USCGA already granted his waive with an appointment from the USCGA.
This helps as the USAFA is his 1st choice.

Did you ever hear from Dodmerb after submitting your AMI?

For the waiver AMI, they did not respond or acknowledge receipt, the only thing I got was an update in the portal from “additional medical information required” to “under DODMERB review”

Echoing the above, sort of -- DS's experience was 6-7 weeks from waiver requested to waiver approval. AMI was requested during this time.

Many applause to the DODMERB team who assisted DS when he requested help or clarification.

Ok thanks mine still says AMI required…sent over 2 wks ago now. Busy time I guess

I am curious where the request for AMI shows up, on the dodmerb website or in the Academy application portal? And if on the dodmerb site, is it obvious when you login? We are told by admissions AMI is needed, but can’t find questions to answer or what exactly it is they want. Maybe one is lagging behind the other? Thank you for any input.

For me, all AMIs, including the waiver AMI, is requested for in the DODMERB portal, in the form of a correspondence. You will get an email when one gets sent to you. There was some lag time between admissions telling me there was an AMI needed vs the correspondence that actually detailed what they needed, about 2 days.

DD received an email from DoDMERB with the AMI request, and the AMI letter is also posted on the portal.
