USCG takes 1st and 2nd in USNI photo contest

Great pics. I love lighthouses. I have a lighthouse collection including photos and drawings.

I was excited to see the pictures from the Mighty Haley. My spouse was EO on there a while back and brought back memories. It reminded me of a story of when he was on the Haley of how a shipmate came across an eagles nest while hiking in Kodiak. The eagles weren't too pleased and clawed the heck out of his back, lesson to the story, always stay on designated trails and admire the bald eagle from the distance! The story was re-told many times to warn the new comers to the island.

I met a guy who had an F86 Sabre. He had flown it cross country and refueled in air more than once. The best thing about that jet was it only cost about $100 in maintenance for every flight hour.

Oh.... my classmate also got 2nd place.... wow. CGA 2006 representing!
And another 2006 - Ian Starr
