My HS junior wants to play ball at CGA---any advice on how to get started w this process? Direct outreach to the coach? Does his coach reach out? Thank you!

I advise my students to complete the recruiting form on the USCGASports.com website. Your junior may also desire to reach out directly the coaching staff.

Hi- one of my sons played 4 years at a mid major and is finishing his grad transfer year now. My USMA DS was recruited to play at USNA. Shoot me a dm and we can set up a time to talk if it might be useful for you to hear their stories and lessons learned

My son is a USCGA baseball recruit - will play next year. He had been j. Touch with Coach Casey since sophomore year. He did AIM and several Academy showcases so Coach could see him play - he went out to Naval and AFA for showcases. He had offers from AFA, USMMA, and CGA and ultimately chose CGA. Definitely reach out to Coach Casey - he’s amazing! Best of luck!!! The coaches help so much to get you in!

My son is a junior as well. He has been in contact with Coach Casey, been to the USNA baseball leadership experience camp as well as the USAFA camp. Coach Casey and Coach Degre were at each. DS has stayed in contact with both throughout the year. He has been sending video through social media and email. While he is not a "blue chip" the constant contact has been beneficial. My advise is to stay in touch with the coaching staff.

Great advice-thank you. Did your son do the one week USAFA baseball camp? Really appreciate this info!

My son did the AFA baseball prospect camp since he was a freshman, so for 3 years. It’s usually in July or August. USNA, USMMA, and USCGA coaches were all there. He ended up getting 3 offers to play baseball from that camp to 3 different academies.

My son did 3rd session of AIM (for USCGA) last July and that’s when CG became his number one choice. We met in depth with Coach Casey while we were out there, he did a Academic pre-read on knew he had a strong chance of getting in. He got a LOA from USMMA.
