Hello all,

I'm in the candidate process and was wondering if the DoDMERB medical examination acquired from MEPS during enlistment process can be used for the AFA application as long as it's within 2 years.

Thanks,
M

My advice is to contact your assigned counselor listed on your portal and ask. I would be very surprised that an exam conducted up to 2 yrs ago would suffice in judging the health necessary to be successful as a cadet. Lots can happen health wise in 2 years. The drug test is also part of the exam.

If I recall correctly, the medical exam at MEPS during the enlistment process and the DoDMERB required for the Academies/ROTC are not one and the same. You'll need to complete the DoDMERB to complete your application.

Did you end up enlisting? Please let me know if you have questions about the enlistment -> officer path.

I recognize your name from AFEF.

I've talked to the DoDMERB personnel and confirmed that they do not work. Thank you for your replies however! And yes, I enlisted and am applying through the LEAD program this year.

Best of luck to you! I love to see young enlisted members passionate about serving and seeking additional challenges.
