I heard that every cadet plays a sport. (I don't mean the D1 Varsity sports I mean the sports the not D1 cadets play) - how do they decide what sport to play? And what are good ideas? I know most of the cadets are coming in as team captain of something so do they stick with one of their high school sports or can they choose something completely unrelated?

There are a number of different sports offered as intramurals every semester if a cadet doesn’t play corps/club squad. Upper class typically will get to choose before plebes/yuks on preferences for what sport they want to play, depending on the company, because slots per sport are limited how many can be on a company team. There’s no reason to stick with a sport that you played previously if you want to try something different. Sports offered vary depending on what DPE thinks is a good idea and cadets are interested in year to year
