I'm a "excel" person, love my spreadsheets, data as of this morning, one may have been added since I analyzed the data. This is based on self-reporting, not statistically valid, I had to guess on a couple of the rows, just interesting:

appointments by week (beg on Mon), I lumped all 2018 into Dec.:
12/31 - 4
1/7 - 3
1/14 - 53
1/21 - 4

Undecided - 14
Accepted or will accept - 46
Declined - 4

by nomination source:
Pres - 2
Senatorial - 5
Rotc - 1
Congressional - 27
Multiple - 29 (most were MOC & senate but a few were Rotc or active and something else)
 
Good job @Susan707 In the past, SAF was believed to account for 10% of whatever was happening out there.
So, the 53 may reflect the first big wave...the week of the 14th. Each week, there will be additional offers sent to candidates (and some percentage of them will post on this thread).
So, still a long way to go--and the application deadline is still one month from now.

It would also be interesting to see how many are LOA / LOE / Neither ... just because that’s a pretty important thing as well. Last I knew the Academy’s only gave around 50 or so LOA’s once upon a time. That was when my cousin was in the USMA several yrs ago.

Also not everyone knows about this thread .. .my husband & I accidentally stumbled upon it last year. Only because his co-worker told him about it from his son who served in the AFA.

Seems a bit high...
 
Of the 64 names:
2 - no response
26 - No LOA
6 - LOE
30 - LOA

I don't know the difference between LOE & LOA, if any.

I'll update info at the end of week after more info is available. Also, , make sure you fill out all fields in the prescribed format, makes it easier to slice and analyze .
 
I have USNA also, I'll try to post to their thread later today. Of the 3 bigger SAs, usma - 64 names, usna - 50, usafa - 33. Hopefully, total appointments will pick up for all.

USMA Admissions put out last week that 300 offers of appointment had been released at that time.
 
I think the 10% number will probably hold true across the whole population of say 1200-1300 appointments, however that percentage is probably skewed by a larger % of early appointments represented on this forum. In other words, I think you are looking at 25-35% of the outstanding appointments listed above because a larger number of LOAs, etc., frequent this forum as opposed to those appointments that come later.
 
Hmmm.... @cptenca I read the same thing about the 300 appointments. So, it could be an over representation of early appointees on the forum (which would speak well of the forum) or it could mean that the 10% rule is no longer accurate. We will have to wait until the admissions cycle is finished--compare the number of offers or the yield rate to the number of US cadet candidates.

I believe admissions said something about the time of the 53 that they had given 300 appointments. So in the case of this particular forum the percentage may be a little higher or maybe it will slowly go down.
 
Something else came up with this topic on the spreadsheet breakdown topic: of all the LOAs/LOEs how many of these are athletes/non-athletes. The reason I ask is because some stated today that LOAs that are given out are rare but very rare to non-athletes. I was wondering how true that is?

I was actually lucky to receive an LOA without being an athlete, and I know a couple candidates near me who also have received one without recruitment, too.

My DS received an LOA and he is not a recruited athlete. Buddy of his from same district also received LOA - and is not a recruited athlete.
 
I am aware of 2 out of 17 MMI AOG reports so far on this list. One reported as an AOG, the other did not. Both accepted of course.
