USMA Combat Weapons Team

Does anyone have any information on how to earn a spot on USMA's Combat Weapons Team? Although I have never shot in competition, I shoot quite often with my father and it is a passion of mine. I would truly appreciate any information on the nature of the tryouts and what I can do now to best prepare.

As I understand the selection process isn't just desire and skill. Kind of like you don't just volunteer for Special Forces.
But can't hurt to have a good background in shooting sports.

It's once of the toughest tryouts here. Be prepared to run and ruck a lot--many of the team tryouts here are more "can you hang physically" than anything to do with the actual activity. I didn't do it myself but had a few friends go through it. Also consider the Pistol Team and the Irregular Warfare club, who shoot regularly as well.
