Hello everyone,
I'm currently an candidate for the USNA with my package almost finished. I just took my ACT&SAT within the past month. I've read a lot of these forums about how Leadership is generally looked at more than academics for priors, but something in the back of my head still has me stressing about scores. I graduated high school with a 2.8 and got a 22 on the ACT. For my Leadership in service, I'd say stands out amongst most in my command. Upon finishing my application, when can I expect to hear back from the SA?

More than likely not for a few months. It’s not uncommon for priors to hear more towards to March-April. Not saying you couldn’t hear next week, but the majority of priors hear around the same time. Yes leadership means a lot, but academics are still important. USNA must feel
comfortable that you can complete the course work there or after a prep year at NAPS. Going to be completely honest, a 2.8 and 22 isn’t going to help demonstrate that. But, that isn’t the end of the world. You said you retook your tests, that is good. An increased score could definitely help. It also depends what kind of course load you took in high school, a heavy AP or honors in key courses like Calc and Chemsitry will be looked at more favorably than something like Algebra. The other things you can do to help an application now and even next year; take college level course work and demonstrate you can handle it and retake the tests again (have a study plan). Good luck.
