New to the forums here. Quite pleased to find this site by accident. Have one cadet class of 2013 and a senior in high school currently in the application process.
I was wondering what experiences other female cadets have had on campus and during their sea year.

Hi, and Welcome. I have a plebe (male) at KP so I cannot answer your question directly. However I can tell you how I have learned quite a bit. Go to the USMMA thread and use the search key. Put in a few key words and you will get a whole host of threads ( possibly ) with the exact information you seek. Or if you have the time page back to the beginning of the threads history and begin reading forward. I have learned so many things that I didn't even know I had, or was going to have, questions about, lol. Also you find great ( funny, interesting, etc.) nuggets if info in the darnedest of places. Once a thread veers off topic you never know where it will end up! Also by reading the previous threads ( all thousands of them ) you will get a handle on the culture here and less likely to be sensitive to some of our more colorful posters. :thumb: Also it is good to be careful with your anonymity for the sake of your KP'er. That said I have left more than enough information to lead straight to my or my Plebes door but I feel confident I have not said anything which could be damaging in any way if known. Enjoy these forums but watch out it is very addicting.

I asked my plebe DS during parents weekend how the girla were doing. He said that they had a girls only club that met during tattoo when folks get yelled at each evening. Also they had 300 older brothers in the company. Helping with calc and watching over them while on liberty. DS was with 6 guys and 1 gal together on liberty. I think she kept them out of trouble more than they helped her.

Whoa! Did you just imply that a" girl "will need the help of the guys for Calc? Oh no you didn't! ( insert finger wave smiley here )
 this smiley will have to do!
I know you didn't mean it that way,,,,,,,,
And of course it looks like everyone needs help in Calc!

Lynpar, I will definitely make time to read through various threads. My daughter is doing well, she can hold her own with the guys (and she is helping the guys with their calc, believe me!). I just wonder as a mom. Noooo, not helicopter parenting. I am asking on this forum, because DD (dear daughter??? right?) isn't going to fill me in on any real scoop. Her sea year has been mostly amazing and any problems she has had haven't seemed to have related to her being female. One issue she had was that she said after indoc when as a pleb, they were issued their khakis, and then once regular classes began and poor food/high carbs were around, almost all the girls complained their uniforms were too tight.
