USNA Class of 2017 Wait List Thread

My son got his waitlist notice yesterday as well.
 
My DS got word of waitlist last Friday from his BGO, but somehow the advanced notice didn't offset the disappointment of facing the TWE in the mail. It arrived yesterday.
 
I have read anecdotes about getting notice the week before and even the day before I-day. I really hope that they wrap the class sooner than that this year.

Also, read they have not taken more than 50 from the list and don't know whether they have taken none from the list. I know that is possible but don't know if there is any data on that.
 
Please know that sometimes the USNA can't wrap things up that quickly. Things happen and some kids get injured therefore you could hear right up until the day before I-Day. I know that's not what you want to hear but it happens. Last year my son had his BFE, unexpected knee surgery in May, found out day before I-Day that he couldn't attend as he wasn't cleared. Some lucky boy/girl received a phone call that day to report the next day! Chin up, it can happen, be prepared! Good luck!
 
There has been! I was on the wait list and recieved an appointment late last week. I took the weekend to think about it, and decided to decline. I am accepting my original appointment to USAFA. I hope that means USNA will tale another name off the wait list!
 
Keep the Faith

My son was on the wait list last year. He and 2others received their appointments 3 days before I Day. Hang in there but realize it is a long shot.
