Is your DS/DD a sponsored prep? If he/she is, I know that the sponsored usna preps at my foundation school(NMMI) will not be receiving their appointments until around March/April. If he/she is not a sponsored prep, it could come anytime.

Just curious because my friend was accepted but received a letter from both a Senator and Rep he was nominated through saying he was being made an offer of appointment. How does that work? His district is small and has few applicants he was told, so could that hint that it was likely through his Rep.?

Depending on your MOC's office, you may receive a letter or congratulatory call, but not always. If you have more than 1 nomination to a SA and receive an appointment, you may never know which one was used unless specifically told by your MOC.

DS is a plebe and he had two nominations. We do not know which one was charged, but I recall a thread a while back where someone said that your nomination source is logged and reported on a USNA report - maybe a grade report or graduation report at USNA. Maybe somebody in the know can clarify/verify.

How long has your sons app been complete? My son has a NM Congressional Dist 1 and Senatorial nomination plus a JROTC nom. His app was completed in October/November but still waiting.......

Congrats on all the noms! (and good luck! this is so nerve-wracking!)
I honestly can't remember when DS finished his application. I want to say late September? Whenever the USAFA Early Action deadline was. He got the package today - no phone call or any other notification from any source.
FWIW, he also received both Senators' noms for USAFA, but he was deferred from EA to the regular decision in April.

Yes, nerve-wracking! His BGO told him today that he has been looked at by the board and that there is a new code after his name now. The BGO is a first-time BGO this year and doesn't know what it means. The BGO tried calling but no answers at USNA likely due to weather. Maybe we will get some info tomorrow. We didn't get what the code was.
