USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

As a parent I vehemently disagree with this.

My son called me with the news that he got his waiver as I was getting a breathing treatment in a clinic.

I started crying loudly. The nurse ran in to make sure I was ok.

Don’t do this to your parents.
Ha good point! XD

Just from what i'd want.

Different for everyone!

Unfortunately my DD received an email from a USMC Officer recruiter stating she was not selected for USNA with a pitch to enlist or join another commissioning path - no change to her USNA portal, still CPR.

If in fact she was denied to USNA this is really a poor way for her to be notified.

I called the USMC recruiter myself and was told they were given a list of names that were not selected to use for their own recruitment efforts.

I would find it in poor taste for USNA to farm out no -selects to military recruiters prior to properly notifying them through the portal.
that is not good and I have not heard this before.....that just does not sound right to me???

I've gotten emails from USMC officer recruiters after all 3 of my rejections, typically within a week of the notification. From my experience it's pretty normal.
I love your persistence.... I know it's not always the end results but the journey itself that builds the most character. Whatever the future brings for you - I'm wishing you the best. Positive vibes on the road ahead. Peace.

I was 10 days late to deliver a ten pound baby. The last few days before she was born I had to stop going to the office and answering my phone because I wanted to cry every time a well intentioned person said, “You STILL haven’t delivered the baby?”

It feels like DD is living this now. Well intentioned teachers and friends stopping her in the halls, calls and texts from family keep bringing her back to the uncertainty.

Thinking of all the candidates in limbo tonight.💕

My wife went into forced labor on our daughter Tuesday until Friday night - she was too big. Saturday and Sunday- more labor.

She was over ten pounds and was too big to come out. 80 hours of total labor. I was tired!

My son was almost ten pounds and was taken early.

Whoa! We’d have some stories to swap! Hope she gets flowers AND chocolate on Mother’s Day. She earned it!

I don't have DD's login credentials as I feel this is her journey. Seeing that I don't have her login info, I spend a good portion of my day reading updates here and speculating with you all. I get some good laughs here and they have certainly gotten me through some tough days. DD did show me her portal tonight, both for USNA as well as USAFA. They look really different and USAFA seems a bit confusing. I didn't want to add to her anxiety so I didn't ask too many questions as we wait out the 8 Billionth week at CPR. 🤣 Does anyone know what the USAFA portal shows when there's an update? I know this is the USNA forum but you all have been so wonderful I figured I'd ask here first.

Unfortunately, I think "waitlist" is the only good news any of us still waiting can really hope for at this point. If you look at last year’s thread, I think everyone still posting at this time, sitting CPR, was eventually TWE'd. There were a couple who got waitlisted but pretty clear that no word this late in the game means only bad news.
DD talked to admissions TODAY. They assured her that there are appointments, NAPS, foundations, waitlists for all three and of courses TWEs going out this week and for some, beyond that. Hang in there a couple more days.

Is it possible to have waivers still going through even after the 15th? It's the last thing on my candidate portal and seeing as this is THE WEEK, I think they would also let us know about medical.
If u have an LOA and are waiting for a waiver after the 15th you still have a conditional offer. If cleared from the waiver u will get a full offer. We went until mid May last year.

Fellow speculators,
My DD received a phone call from our congresswoman's office today after 4pm. Unfortunately she couldn't answer her phone because she was at practice. My question is should I get my hopes up that this might have been THE phone call to notify her of her appointment? What else could they be calling her for? 😩

That sounds like you have some exciting news coming!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

I think the recruiter is fishing. I think they may be able to see a list of applicant names but not their status. My daughter received her appointment offer in the fall and she received a call from a local recruiter about 3 weeks ago inquiring if she would like to enlist. She just politely told them no and that she had accepted her appointment to the Naval Academy. For class of 2025 my son was waitlisted up until the Friday before I-Day when he received his TWE. That week and I-Day week the recruiters kept calling knowing he would be answering the phone. It was really irritating. Until your daughter is officially informed otherwise by someone from USNA admissions she is still in it. Tell her to keep the faith.

Lol

My son was visiting the recruiting office for some reason while an applicant. The recruiter was pushing the advantages of enlisting.

While my son was at plebe summer, he called me to try and get him to enlist.
