USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

I don't have DD's login credentials as I feel this is her journey. Seeing that I don't have her login info, I spend a good portion of my day reading updates here and speculating with you all. I get some good laughs here and they have certainly gotten me through some tough days. DD did show me her portal tonight, both for USNA as well as USAFA. They look really different and USAFA seems a bit confusing. I didn't want to add to her anxiety so I didn't ask too many questions as we wait out the 8 Billionth week at CPR. 🤣 Does anyone know what the USAFA portal shows when there's an update? I know this is the USNA forum but you all have been so wonderful I figured I'd ask here first.
In USAFs portal, it says a decision has been made and then you click on that and it takes you to the decision. Hang in there.

Fellow speculators,
My DD received a phone call from our congresswoman's office today after 4pm. Unfortunately she couldn't answer her phone because she was at practice. My question is should I get my hopes up that this might have been THE phone call to notify her of her appointment? What else could they be calling her for? 😩
That's what happened to my DS. Class of 21. And, I'm going to tag on here about checking the portal. Like someone else said, we have a pretty tight relationship. I always had his sign in and checked his portal WAY more often than he did. The next morning after the call, actually a MESSAGE on the AM (he was at swim practice and we were at work) he woke up to find me in the office. He started to say, what time do you think I should call...and I showed him the portal change and he said, "Plan A it is!" And we shed a few tears together. BTW (and I don't mean to offend anyone - I have very few filters)...He was 9 lbs. 15 oz. and I have no problem telling him, "You came out of my vagina. Period. Done. You owe me!" Still praying for all that don't have a definitive answer, yet.

Yes. They will send an email

I think the recruiter is fishing. I think they may be able to see a list of applicant names but not their status. My daughter received her appointment offer in the fall and she received a call from a local recruiter about 3 weeks ago inquiring if she would like to enlist. She just politely told them no and that she had accepted her appointment to the Naval Academy. For class of 2025 my son was waitlisted up until the Friday before I-Day when he received his TWE. That week and I-Day week the recruiters kept calling knowing he would be answering the phone. It was really irritating. Until your daughter is officially informed otherwise by someone from USNA admissions she is still in it. Tell her to keep the faith.
I agree with this. My ds got several phone calls and texts asking him if he wanted to enlist in the marines even after he left for USAFA. He never completed his USNA app nor did he apply for NROTC. He still gets letters in the mail from them every couple of months.

Spam calls from our MoC reps for advocacy stuff were the worst. We'd see the caller ID, and it would be one of their offices, only to get a pre-recorded message about whatever bill they wanted support with.

Kid never got the actual call about his appointment.

But I did get a USMC call as well for him while he was at PS, and he never once expressed interest in them. Plus, he would have still been in his NROTC program as a 3/C on scholarship if he didn't get in to the USNA. :biglaugh:

Well at least you still have a district and a congressman to call you. Ours was redistricted and his congressman retired. So that district no longer exists with no one to call us. We touched base with our new district rep but they only have info on their slate prior to redistricting. So we’re kind of in limbo

Our District for House membership is actually the same as Annapolis ....... made it virtually impossible for him to get a nom there for the USNA compared to all the other kids! Although the first cycle, he gave him one to the USAFA (and USMA, even though he didn't apply there).

Same here. Email from USNA in AM. She checked portal (no way I was ever going to get access), appointment offered. MOC called me several hours later with congratulations. :)

I'm not sure it helps much with folks that are waiting, but I'll share what we experienced. Daughter received email from USNA Friday 12/22 at just after 8 AM ET. Subject line: USNA Application Decision. First line: "I am pleased to offer you an appointment to the United States Naval Academy as a member of the Class of 2027. "

My guess would be a bunch of decision emails go out in the next several days in the AM ET time. Good luck to all.

I was looking for a nice inspirational quote about patience to help get us all through these last few days but this seems more appropriate...

“You may fire when you are ready, Gridley”, Commodore George Dewey

Did the email come after the portal changed?

5th page of the USAFA Waiting page, dated January 30, there is a screen shot posted of what the USAFA portal shows. Big RED C as the circle of identity to the left of the post.
Good luck with either route! Hard to go wrong if given choices.

Same here. We were re-districted and the MOC who nominated him lost the primary for the newly formed district. So the guy in office now represented a different district in 2022 and nominated his own slate.
