USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Hahahaha!! That's funny!! No. I have been checking it all morning. It just updated 15 minutes ago.
Hi, I’m new, sorry if this is a silly question, but I was wondering what you’ve been checking and what was updated 15 mins ago, is it by chance the USNA portal?

Before our time here is done, I think the thing I would like to share today so that the next year's waiters and speculators can see it when they are where we are is this:

I know it says April 15th and everyone said "expect it to be April 15th and not sooner" and I heard those words and saw those dates. I promise you I felt the same way you do right now. My child gets exceptional grades and is athletic and active and a strong candidate. Surely, USNA will see him and send him an offer as soon as we see that nomination hit. Maybe he'll even get a LOA because I read about those and he's such a strong candidate that I am SURE they will give him one. Of course they will! So yes, April 15th is what they SAY but my child is special. Unfortunately, all 16K of us have exceptional children. And then you think, okay, he got a nomination so NOW he'll surely hear from them any day now. Now it's just 5K or so and obviously he's going to get that offer now. Okay maybe not until after the holidays because they are busy. Well, okay obviously they want to wait for the Jan 31 application date to close so they know who they have. Of course, but beginning of Feb for sure. I mean, but some states are still sending their nomination slates so maybe another week but since ours went in November, I'm sure they will do ours first. Like for sure by March we will know for sure. And obviously he hasn't been turned down yet so they probably just haven't worked on his slate yet. They are saving our state...oh look, there's 2 appointments from my state, but they aren't the same district so obviously they'll do ours next. I mean, there's NO WAY it will go into April. Why would it? They have everything they need. And here we are on April 12th still CPR. How could he still be CPR this late when he had everything in by September like his BGO told him to and got a nomination earlier than most people? How can this be? Does it mean they MIGHT want him? Does it mean they haven't gotten to his slate yet? Does it mean they already sent an offer and our MOC isn't going to call. I better check the portal again every hour to see. BTW, that update time just means the system refreshed and has nothing to do with your candidate. And when the withdrawn button disappears, it also doesn't mean anything. But go get an 8 ball. Trust me, you won't regret that! Let me just check that portal one more...yeah...CPR...April 12th. 3 more days. Or maybe more, or less, or another month. Or in an hour. This is your life now. Buckle up because it's a bumpy wait. Tend to your Plans B through Q even though when other people tell you to do that, you know they are crazy because your child is exceptional and will get that offer early. Just in case, take care of the back up plans if for no other reason than to give you something else to do other than refresh the portal.
Thank you! Your post made me laugh and cry at the same time! My DD has the added stress of waiting for waivers to be approved and I just want to hold her in my arms and take all the anxiety away she must be feeling but maybe I'm feeling more stress than she is! To top it all off, her sister is also a senior and her plan A is all set and we can't not celebrate her!

DS is still sitting at CPR here in Southern California! Have plan B at Arizona State University fully in place but still holding out hope. DS would be happy with NAPS as he is still only 17 and won’t turn 18 until after plebe summer.
Positive thoughts for all of us still in the waiting game.

I vaguely recall someone saying that historically Tues and Wed of April 15 week were the big TWE/WL Days. Can anyone confirm that or remember where the post was? Just wondering what it means if this was the last big TWE wave, what that means for still CPR.

Just got waitlisted. So you will know very very soon. Fingers crossed for everyone involved.

Like many of you, we saw the disappointing portal status update today - ‘Turned Down.’ A softer blow than ‘Rejected’ but nonetheless the status carries with it the same hopeless finality. The USNA 2027 train has stopped for our DS. I’m now getting on a new train that has a fabulous destination - looking forward to these final weeks with our DS before he heads off to Texas A&M College of Engineering on a NROTC Scholarship. Will he reapply or will he love his college experience? Who knows. In many ways USNA has been the crazy train, and we didn’t have any issues with nom’s or DoDMER or waivers. If DS gets back on the crazy train I will likely not be a passenger. Once is enough. Not whatever happens, He will be a naval officer, fulfilling his dream. Best wishes to all the candidates and mamas and daddy’s.

Hi everyone, DS already Got the BFE and uploaded all the documents. Do you think we need to continue with plan B? Meaning do we pay the university fee (still waiting for NROTC scholarship)? and what if he gets the NROTC, can we decline on I-day? Should we accept Even though he already accepted the offer of USNA? Too many doubts… but plenty of happiness.

Best wishes! Reaply to the train next year is always an option.
