Hey, everyone.

I'm planning on taking the ACT a few more times before I submit my app. for the class of 2028 and have been contemplating if I should take the SAT too. I have already tried the SAT and have found out I'm better on the ACT so I've been studying heavily for that. However, I will probably take another practice SAT.

I'm aware that the SAs super score on the SAT/ACT, but do they super score across the different tests? For example, if I did my best on ACT English and best on SAT math, would they super score those two sections?

Thanks.

Absolutely recommend do this. Yes, they superstore between the two. And between all tests submitted. It’s a good strategy.

Just note that only USNA superscores between tests. USMA does a traditional superscore taking whole sections from the same type of test. USAFA takes the best subsections from the EBRW of the SAT but otherwise the same as USMA. Not sure about USCGA or USMMA.

What does EBRW mean for USAFA? They also take the ACT too, correct?

I'm aware that the SAT has two math sections (calculator and no calculator), so which section would USNA take to superscore with your English ACT?

Thanks.

EBRW is the "Evidence-Based Reading and Writing" score on the SAT. It is just the combination of those 2 sections. The SAT puts them into one score out of 800 and then you get a math score out of 800. USAFA will take your best reading section from one SAT and combine it with your best writing section from a different SAT. If you look at your SAT score report, each section is scored on a scale of 40. They are the only school I know that does that. My oldest DS got a nice 40 point boost because of that.

And yes, USAFA takes the ACT also and will superscore that as well. They just won't combine it with the SAT.

From what I understand, USNA just takes the ACT section scores and converts them to the SAT scoring when superscoring. There are approximate conversions online that are easy to find. I've never seen the SAT two math sections separated, they are just combined for one score.

Every time I scroll by this post in the main list, I see USNA Superstore and think “yeah I probably need to bring an empty suitcase for my tuition payment”

Yes. My son’s ACT english and SAT math was what USNA used.
To clarify, if a candidate is submitting ACT scores, am I correct in my understanding that the USNA won't even use the Reading & Science ACT scores? Only the Math and English scores?
