Hello all. Has anyone here done a religious exemption for the COVID vaccine yet. I have the phone call today about it and was wondering if anyone knows what I will be talking about during it and if I should have anything prepared. Thanks.

It’s highly unlikely to be granted, this thread has the same topic

This is deep topic, with this board not being a strong place for the support of this particular process.

When you get enough posts, PM me and I can provide some light on the subject.

you need 5 posts to receive PMs, and it looks like you need info today.

My advice:
Listen to what the call provides.
Ask about time frames for any processes available to you.
Know that this is generally an uphill battle, as previous posters have said. Have patience and a thick skin. There have been extremely few Religious Accommodations approved out of thousands submitted. Be patient.
Know what is your number 1 priority. Realize that there may be conflicts between your desire for military service and the Academy with Religious Accommodation.

My previous offer still stands. PM me when you get the required number of posts.

I understand your position (believe me I do) but chances are the very few exceptions in this area are from current service members. My husband flies for the airlines and while they have recently brought back employees who didn’t get the vaccine (for whatever reason), new employees are required to get it. Even airlines who did not mandate, are doing so for new hires, because the employees who aren’t vaccinated for the most part can’t fly outside the US. That is probably a major part of the military’s position- it will limit deployment.

Lots of material on this subject on these forums. Best I can gather from reading a lot of them is that if you are already serving you have a better shot at getting some form of exemption. New inductees, either enlisted or officer programs it seems are just denied admission without the vaccine. Apparently from reading some legal case files, most Judges and Courts have concluded that if you are not serving currently, it is difficult to have "Legal Standing" to dispute or fight the mandatory rules.

At least one of the SA's does not issue authorization to report without proof of vaccination, and if you show up anyway and refuse vaccination, you are immediately processed out.

I think you need to think long and hard about how badly you want to serve. This whole Covid vaccination thing has become so political that it is laughable. If you had childhood vaccinations (usually required to attend school) your "Religious" objection to the Covid vaccine can be questioned since many of the "normal" vaccines for school use the same stem cells or other living tissue in development. The best shot is if you were "Home Schooled" or went to private Religious school that did not require childhood vaccinations. Even then, normally to attend college certain vaccinations are required, again unless you attend a Religious College that does not.
