Hear ye, hear ye! RDML Sands (my new favorite person) has designated NROTC Midshipmen as being part of DoD vaccination group 1b (deploying in <3 months), meaning that we're eligible for the vaccine right now! Similar to USNA, this was done so that we can complete our summer cruise requirement this summer. I'm absolutely ecstatic and have been speed dialing vaccine clinic all day.

More importantly though, this means I no longer have to lay siege to the Naval Academy to get one of their vaccines (kidding (or am I?)).

It is true. I am a 4/C at Virginia Tech right now. We were briefed yesterday that all scholarship MIDN would be receiving the vaccine in order to go on summer cruise.

My MIDN at ND is getting his 2nd shot on Monday. Indiana was scheduling reservist.

Since NROTC MIDN are under the DoD Phase 1b, can we get our vaccine from civilian providers or does it have to be from a DoD entity?

Anywhere that gets you in! My unit is encouraging civilian providers because it’s far faster than an MTF... classic

my DD said they were going to send shots to the school hospital for her Battalion to receive them. However knowing how these things often play out, i went ahead and found her a vaccines while home for Spring Break
