I contacted my USNA BGO and I was told that If I complete the SAP program at any of the Military JR colleges that my application would greatly improve.

My only question to you guys is what you think about the colleges?
I mean it doesnt seem like Valley Forge is really represented on the forums. And If I do see a mention of it, then its not a great look.

Does it matter which one I go to? It just seems the colleges are by region. Im closest to valley forge. But it seems like NMMI has a better program.

Just looking for some feedback before I send in a deposit to either school.

Thanks

I can't attest as to the quality of Valley Forge's prep program but I've done my research and would say that NMMI seems like the better option. There's a good chance I'll be there in the flal in the SAP program for USMA. It's my choice. Plus I lived in New Mexico for 6 years, the weather's pretty nice down there compared to here in the Northeast (I live at West Point now, my dad teaches here). The plus is you won;t have to deal with the damn humidity.

Thats my two cents, probably not very helpful.

It doesn't really matter. What matters is your performance. If you go to Valley Forge, do well in academics, military and athletics then you have just as much a shot as if you went to NMMI.
The main reason NMMI and MMI get the bulk is that their cost is so low.

Have a plan B, either way. If you don't get into USNA then you can take your credits and transfer to a 4 year college. Good Luck.

Hey Tru3

Is there a reason you didnt consider Valley Forge? I know that compared to NMMI its expensive, but did you just choose NMMI? Or did you consider MMI, VF, or Greystone Prep also?

And Thanks Just A Mom.

I weighed my options. I liked NMMI the best, it just seemed to really stick out for me. Plus I lived in New Mexico for a number of years. Another factor was the fact that it's away from home, I'm a very independent person and want to have that liberating feelling that comes from being away from home.

I guess it's easiest to say that it just seems like a place that would fit me and my mannerisms.

No particular reason for not considering Valley Forge I guess. I thiink I just got hooked on NMMI.

Hey True,

I just got my "official" notification that I was accepted to NMMI. Did you get yours too? Also I think you need to apply to the SAP program after your accepted right?

No, unfortunately I have not received a scholarship from the AOG yet, I'm just a sitting duck.

As for your question regarding applying to SAP I am unsure as to how that works. I'm speculating, but I'd think if you are a sponsored prep then there is probably no need to have to apply for the Prep Program as you'd already be enrolled in it. Once again, I'm just speculating.

Congratulations, maybe I'll see you there in the fall friend, if not best of luck to you.
