Hello,

Ahead of the nomination application deadline, I called my congressman's office to see what materials I still had to submit. While on the phone with the service academy coordinator, he was looking over my transcript, and he said: "With your existing information, I'm going to give you the nomination. No need to submit the essays, or interview. The nomination will appear on your portal around January"

I thought he was joking so I laughed with him. Then he repeated it, and I am shell-shocked. Is this even possible? No need for even an interview??? I feel like this is too good to be true, but he is the one in charge of nominations, so...

Don't know how to feel right now, so thought I would let everything out to you guys!

Happened to my DS last year. Enjoy, and bank this prep time for other things. Best of luck!

Congratulations! Must have been a combination of an impressive transcript and perhaps not many applicants in your district. What area are you from if you don't mind me asking?

Take it. They might not get a lot of candidates or hold interviews. Every MOC is different. Congrats.

Thank you- what did surprise me was the fact that they do hold interviews, and it is a relatively populated district; I know of two other people from my school applying...

It happens!

A friend of mine had a slightly different circumstance. It was her Congresswoman's time to leave office and she didn't have time for interviews...my friend had an LOA so she was nominated! Sometimes stuff happens and Government employees get too busy.

You must be a strong candidate! Congrats!
