So say that I do receive the Vice Presidential Nomination. My preferred academy is the USNA. Should I state that the Navy is where my true allegiances lie in my essay or should I only check the USNA box in the Preferred Academies section? I am most likely going to apply for USMA and USAFA, but the Naval Academy is the only one I actually want to attend. Should I try and slip my preference into my essay, only check the Naval Academy, or check all of them?

This is one nom not to overthink and over-strategize yourself into a corner.
The service academy chooses where to assign the VP noms on behalf of the VP. Since there are so few of these, it is not unusual for the SA to keep those in reserve for candidates they really want who were unable to obtain a nom, and assign those late in the cycle.
If you want USNA as your number 1 be consistent in that messaging in every setting.
If you think you might apply to more than one SA, allow for a change of mind as you gather more information, and don’t box yourself out of a nom source by not indicating it.
