I am a hopeful USNA class of 2025 candidate and was planning on applying for a vice presidential nomination. The deadline to apply for a vice presidential nomination is January 31, 2021 though USNA's nomination deadline is January 31. How do the vice presidential nominations work and will I get a nomination in time to be considered?
Thank you

There have been two recent threads on VP noms in the past few days, similar questions; you may want to use the Search function.

At the top of the Nominations forum, there is a Sticky post on how it all works. If you haven’t read that, I recommend it.

The SAs evaluate and choose who gets the VP noms, with no direct VP staff interaction.

Just like other elected officials, VP can have 5 appointments at each of the SAs that use the VP noms. That works out to 1, occasionally, 2 in any given cycle.

Based on anecdotal insights here on SAF, the SAs often use those for applicants they want but who do not have a nom from any other source, late in the cycle.

Get everything in by the deadline, and your job is done except to wait and tend your alternate plans.
