VMI Interview Questions

Hi Everyone,

I am currently in the midst of preparing for an interview with a member of the admissions team of VMI and am looking for help on the types of questions or information I should be asking/looking for in order to help me truly understand life at VMI. As an out of state applicant, it is close to impossible for me to visit the school in person right now. Any help is appreciated thank you!

1.) Why VMI? How did you develop your interest? Why you think VMI is a good fit for you.
2.) Seeking a commission? Seeking ROTC scholarship? Branch of Service
3.) Major choice and why
4.) Extra circular activities - sports, school organizations, community, etc.
5.) Leadership positions and experiences/examples
6.) Importance of teamwork, adversity, and fellowship
7.) Importance of Honor Code
8.) Tell them that you plan to apply to the Citadel, Norwich, etc. if they ask where else applying

Your input is actually very helpful for me too. Due to some citizenship issues, I don't think I will be able to obtain an appointment in an academy.
