I was awarded a four year NROTC scholarship to VMI. I accepted the scholarship back in December, and haven't heard anything since. I was also cleared by DODMERB. Is there anything else I have to do? Should I contact the VMI NROTC Unit? Thanks!

If you have been accepted by VMI, insure that your degree program aligns to your tier award. Also contacting the NROTC Unit would be a good idea. Then acquire the kit (Clothes, bedding, etc.) for VMI and make reservations for your family at local hotel for Matriculation and all other school events - they book up early. My DD had a meeting with NROTC prior to matriculation activities, i think it was the same day. Parents can join the unofficial VMI NROTC Parent and Alumni Facebook Page, which operates similar to this site, but without the other services chiming in.

Thank you so much! How did you set up the meeting?

You should have been contacted shortly after having a scholarship assigned to VMI. Just call them up or email them to say hello and ask what comes next.

Thank you! I just sent them an email. However, I won the scholarship in December and I was never contacted by VMI; should I be worried?
