Hey Guys, I have started to purchase many of the items that were listed as required on the VMI Website, and have a few questions.
1. What brand of the "Combat Boots" is the best band for your buck?

2. Similarly, what is the best type of shoes, (the dress type) to purchase.

FLR: They will issue you shoes and boots- If you click on the "Cadet Handbook" tab after clicking on this link below- you will find the uniform issue items on page 17. The handbook there is this year's edition there will be a new handbook published in the next couple of months but unless something significant has changed - you don't have to worry about boots or shoes. I think that if you are going to STP they will issue them to you at that time. I wouldn't buy anything other than the stuff they list on page 13 &14 unless they have sent you a list that says otherwise. If you must buy them - or just really want to get a good pair of boots to break in upfront- I think that you want to go with the Belleville 340DES- but I really don't think you need to spend that money
