Congratulations to your son, disey3!! He has shown strength of character following his dream. You should be proud! (I'll bet a few tears have been shed at your house!) God bless....

Wait List

Disey3 - Congratulations to your son and his family. I'm new to the board, but I'll keep you company in the coming weeks as we wait to hear our son's fate.

My son's plan B is Maine Maritime Academy - absolutely beautiful location, but so remote it scares me. Even if he doesn't get in this year I think that he will either reapply next year or try to commission after graduating from MMA with an MT degree. The saltwater runs though his veins - a genetic abnormality inherited from my husband's side of the family.:shake:

BM3 Miller,

I'm so sorry...best of luck at MMI...I know you will do great. Thank you for already serving our country and wanting to do even more!!!! God bless you!!

Disey3 and Shoreline!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I know you are probably not psyched about more waiting...but you must be soooo proud! Here's hoping that a few appointees to CGA decide its not the path they want and open up some more spots for you all! It's already happened this year and did last year also!!!!

Keep the faith...I'm so glad for you!

Thanks Everyone...my hands aren't shaking soooo much now...and for those who read my previous post about how he wanted us to notify him when we got anything....Absolutely hysterical!! Husband was holding envelope up to the sun to try and read inside until Disey texted back "open it!"

More waiting but that's okay by me!! Yeah...I say that now! HA! :yllol:

Hopefully more will get a reply today and we can all wait together!

the road goes on forever

The waiting continues, nothing again today in NY. Well, we did get a flyer from Geico, I suppose that could be good news. Still hoping.

15 minutes could save you 15% on your car insurance. :thumb:

Plan B is a great plan too!
BIL graduated from MMA back in '89, received a great education and had a VERY successful career as a Navy EA6-B nav and was #8 on the Blue Angel flight team.
Is a bit remote; just beware of driving too fast on that highway, they love to ticket you!
Best wishes to both you and your son :thumb:

Fly Girl - Sorry you didn't get that appointment yet, but welcome the we're-still-in-it group. It's fortunate that we are still waiting, and such a virtuous group we will be. Good things happen to those who wait!:thumb:

Thanks for the support USNA1982BGO. I know that MMA will be a good fit for him if things don't work out with the CGA. Plus, we met a few MMA cadets that had the opportunity to sail on the Eagle. But we still like the Bear best.
