Our DD just received notice of being put on the waitlist for the Class of 2022. Although it's not an appointment, she is THRILLED that USCGA put her on their waitlist.
Does anyone know, and I know it's a guessing game, how many applicants get an appointment from the waitlist?
Obviously, it's different every year. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

Congrats to your DD! My DS also just received notice he is waitlisted! Still in the game but we will continue finalizing plan B while hoping for a favorable outcome for an appointment to USCGA - his first choice and heart of hearts! Two questions: 1) can his AO indicate his position on waitlist (ie do they rank?); 2) is the waitlist only for full appointment or does it also include CG scholars? Thanks in advance for insight!

1. I don't know for sure but I don't think they can.
2. There is a separate waitlist for Scholars.

Congrats to your DD! Did she find out through an AO call or was this an update on her Bears Den?
 
It's not so much a list as a pool. Admissions doesn't rank, but they will pull candidates out to complete the class.
 
My son got waitlisted for scholar program. Notified via Bears den. Waiting game continues till May 1st.
 
A cga coach reached out to me right after I posted that I got waitlisted and indicated I’m off the waitlist if I accept a spot on their team! However I’m already committed. Lots of people get off the cga waitlist and I’m happy that my spot will go to people like those on this forum.

were u waitlisted in the academy ir scholar program?
 
DS was waitlisted in December, EA. Received an appointment call from the academy on May 3 at noon!
