Apologies in advance if this is a frequent question. I’ve been researching on my own to avoid posting yet another DQ thread here, but figured I’d get a better/quicker answer just posting.

At age 14, I saw a doctor who prescribed me with medications for ADHD, anxiety, depression, and OCD. He setup a 504 plan for me that carried throughout middle and most of high school I also began seeing a counselor to further manage this. I took the meds and attended counseling for 3 years following that.

When researching the Academy, I learned all of those things were disqualifiers and thus stopped taking meds. I got a note from my doctor saying I didn’t need them any longer, compiled prescription records, etc. in preparation for the application process.

A few months ago, I was prescribed medication and steroids to treat my eczema. It’s been off and on for a few years but never treated until now. At the time of writing this, I haven’t been on any meds (besides for eczema treatment) for a year, give or take.

I’m in the midst of my USAFA application and with all of these factors against me, wondered if completing the process is worth the time realistically. I apologize for the long post, but any help is appreciated. Thanks!

PurpleRain6 = As stated many times, 100% of those that don't apply, don't get admitted. Based solely on your report, you would be DQd by DoDMERB...but, it doesn't account for the opportunity to be medically waived.

Google "DoDMERB;" Hit "Questions on the process;" Paragraphs 11-21 discuss the waiver process:wiggle:
