DS had all green check marks by mid August, including a Presidential nom. Was DQ'd on Aug 18, but last week was relieved to get a letter stating that USMA was pursuing a waiver. Because your candidate file indicates a solid record of accomplishment, we are requesting that the Surgeon, USMA, review your medical file for waiver consideration. He did not receive an LOA or LOE.

Not reading too much into it, but curious.

1. If an application is complete, there is no reason to get an LOE, correct?
2. Can a medical DQ early in the application process prevent an applicant from getting an LOA until the waiver process is complete?

I know, I know...don't worry about the LOA.....I'm just curious.

Thanks all

The waiver will either be approved or not.

If it is approved, you will receive an offer of appointment. If it isn’t, you won’t be.

LOE is worthless at this point. Likely the LOA is meaningless.

An LOE allows the candidate to go on an overnight visit so it would still be useful. My ds got one after his application was complete (minus nomination) two years ago. You might still get one. He never got an LOA but did get an appointment right after his nomination was received in Feb by USMA (congressional so much later than a presidential).
