Hello,

Was DQd for an old cross country track injury. No request for AMI before the DQ and have been under waiver review for three weeks now, with the only communication coming from USNA and USMA informing me a waiver has been requested. Have LOAs to both.
Post DODMERB outage, does anyone have experience in how long it will take to hear SOMETHING, either AMI request or a granted/denied status? Any insight is appreciated.

My DS is in the same position. Exam completed in October and learned of DQ in December. Communication from USNA and USMA is sparse. Waivers requested for both but websites don't provide much info. He's logging into DoDMERB multiple times per day to see if there have been any record requests and there have not been any. He's proactively uploaded documents to support the waiver but that's it--no further communication from them.

Thank you. I’ve read on here to not upload documents unless they ask, as some might hurt the applicants case instead of help. But that seems like a very case specific piece of advice that I read.

I've read both perspectives in these forums. The uploaded documents obviously support the waiver from his medical providers, indicating that the condition will not impact his ability to serve. In addition, I've read that when the SAs retrieve his records to make a determination, what we've uploaded will go along with it, giving them some grounds for the waiver. Sure, they may ask for me information or additional tests, but I cannot see how the support letters will negatively impact his chances. It probably will not tip the scales much, but he figured it was worth a try. Best of luck to you! This process is excruciatingly long with vast gaps in communication. Just when you feel like it's been forgotten, a small glimmer of hope emerges from movement on the portals or DoDMERB.

I am being direct commissioned as an Army guard chaplain. I went through Dodmerb testing. I was disqualified in mid-Jan. The status became under waiver review.
My recruiter initiated waiver for me to the NGB. A week ago, waiver was granted. NGB directly contacted my recruiter. but Dodmerb does not have any updates.
Perhaps you should reach out to your waiver granting authority for more information than waiting for Dodmerb.

USMA can take a while under “normal” conditions. It took almost three months for my DS to finally get through USMA waiver last year where USNA and USNR took only a couple weeks. I have posted on other forums how USMA’a waiver process is slightly different. We did proactively upload doctor’s statements supporting his recovery (skull fracture and concussion recovery) a couple years prior.) I don‘t know if our doctor’s statements helped, but he got the waivers. Good luck!
