I am a “candidate” with the Academy and was recently conditionally awarded the Type 7 - 4 year AFROTC scholarship. My medical status with DoDMERB in reference to the Academy and the AFROTC is “Pending Waiver Submission/Review” due to a D141.50 based on an allergy that I have when eating shellfish. I have not eaten any form of shellfish in years and the reaction that I had when I did was nausea. However, at DoDMERB’s request, I was allergy tested and tested positive.

Is there a chance that I will be granted a waiver and allowed to accept my scholarship or be accepted into the Academy? Also, is there anything else that I or my family can do to show that this allergy is not something that would hinder my performance in the Academy or the AFROTC?

Contact Mr. Larry Mullen, his contact info. is:

"If you have any questions regarding DoDMERB about policies, procedures, your specific case (I will have to verify who you are), or anything else, I am the DoDMERB official to provide you a response. I'm always available and in most cases, will respond immediately, but will respond within 24 hours on all cases.

My email address is ALWAYS open. I'm the DoDMERB Bureaucrat Buster. Give me a chance:) Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil

Now that I've been at this for a while, I "usually" log in late at night and several times throughout the weekend. The issue is the fact that this is not an "official" site and the USAF maintains a very high level of internet security. So, I can't access the site from work---I must log in from home.

Thx in advance for your understanding, patience., and the opportunity to assist you"

dlg2009 - I'm sure I have already responded, but if I haven't, I will before midnight tonight. I was traveling this week:thumb:
