Yes. If waiver is granted, he is now medically cleared, if that was the only medical thing outstanding.Hi DS’s USNA DODMERB portal just changed to “Waiver Granted”
It was “under waiver process” for past 4 wks.
Does this REALLY mean he got cleared?
Really? So scared to celebrate.
Please advice. Thank you.

You are allowed to limber up for happy dance. No telling how long it will take to do the internal admin to generate an appointment. USNA will also inform elected officials about it and give them a window of time to notify - IF that is their custom. Your son should answer calls and have a professional vmail prompt set up.Capt MJ,
Yes, he received LOA from USNA back in November and the only thing outstanding was his medical.
Why am I so scared to celebrate? I’ve been holding my breath and about to explode!
Thank you for your answer. I think I’ll take a breath now.

Did he ever receive an email saying that USNA requested a waiver for him? I received an LOA after I was medically DQ’d, but never an email stating a waiver had been requested for me.Hi.
No we checked DoDMERB website and saw that it changed.
Then he checked his USNA portal and medical had a check by it! (It was a until then)
He did not receive any emails from USNA regarding this update. Maybe they are still working on it.
No. USNA never communicated that waiver was requested on my son’s behalf unlike other 2 SAs. It just said “under waiver review” on DoDMERB portal. Then all of sudden if changed yesterday!Did he ever receive an email saying that USNA requested a waiver for him? Capt MJ,
May I ask one more question? So, my DS just checked his DoDMERB portal and the status changed to "Under DoDMERB Review" for all 3 (USNA, USAFA and AFROTC).
We are most concerned about the USNA status changing since it was "Waiver Granted" for past 2 day. My son's USNA portal still states "medically cleared."
Should we be concerned about this and reach out to DoDMERB or just give it a few days and maybe it's a glitch in the system that will get sorted out soon?
We know everyone at DoDMERB is working hard so don't want to bother them if this is a known issue at the moment.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
I’d give it over the weekend, and check with both USNA Admissions and DoDMERB if status still doesn’t align.No. USNA never communicated that waiver was requested on my son’s behalf unlike other 2 SAs. It just said “under waiver review” on DoDMERB portal. Then all of sudden if changed yesterday!

So glad to hear this. I think synchrony has been an issue as DoDMERB comes back online.Capt MJ,
wanted to update you that the status reverted back and now it says Waiver Granted again. Phew...this is such a roller coaster ride! I am just so thankful for this forum where I can receive guidance through this time!
Wanted to update this thread that my DS has received his appointment to USNA yesterday! Whoohoo!!! We found out through mail first (blue folder with appointment letter inside) and then checked his USNA account and it’s there too! What a relief!
He is currently still under “waiver review” for USAFA and AFROTC.
What a roller coaster ride all within 6 days.
