Hi there. In late February early March of this year I was awarded a ISR national NROTC scholarship.I went through dodmerb, completed everything as soon as possible and was quickly dq’d for a single issue. The code is
D211.50History of head/brain injury with associated post injury manifestations
In the summer of 2019 I had a sports related incident where I fractured my skull had a brain bleed and a very mild concussion. I healed quickly and within two weeks I was completely cleared to return to all physical activity. The only thing I’m left is very slight hearing loss in one ear, but the hearing loss is well within the dodmerb specifications and that wasn’t included as a separate disqualification so I do not think it’s under question. I have been waiting under waiver review since April 8th. Along with what was sent to the review board from dodmerb I sent in a letter completely clearing me and and endorsing my participation from both my primary physician and the neurologist who treated me. Has anyone experienced similar and would be able to tell me my chances and or time frame? I’m at the point where I’m trying to find a rotc roommate and I don’t want to screw anyone over if I can’t get a waiver and also I’m just really excited to be apart of the NROTC at my school. Any advice or insight is appreciated thank you.

How can one ask for a Peanut allergy waiver for a USNA Scholarship recipient with top Academic Honors.

Academy applicants don't request waivers.
