Hi everyone, I am a 16 year old male looking to go into USNA/NROTC. Unfortunately I have weak/mild sleep apnea and had asthma problems when I was much younger(prior to ten years old). Neither condition affects me(I am a varsity swimmer) and the doctor has recommended no treatment needed for my sleep apnea, but I was wondering if it would be a problem with the Medical Review Board.

Thanks

I can't speak with 100% accuracy, but as far as I know, as long as you haven't used any medications or anything for asthma since before your 13th birthday, you should be fine. With the sleep apnea, I'm not sure. I myself had it when I was 4, so I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out. I'm still going through the process myself, but I was only given 4 remedial codes for various issues, and sleep apnea wasn't one of them, so it doesn't seem like it was an issue for me.
