My son Hunter has applied to the West Point Military Academy and has met all requirements. He has been identified as a competitive candidate. He recently got a notification that he was disqualified for a stress fracture that happened during his junior year track season. The West Point military Academy moved him to a waiver status. We have not heard anything since they placed him in the waiver status. In an email my son received it said he has untill April 15th to complete the waiver process yes. We have not heard anything from Dodmerb requesting new or additional medical information.
Can we send information directly to Dodmerb from our doctor that states he was released a year ago for full participation without any restrictions? My son has participated in 3 varsity sports over the course of his senior school year without complications from the stress fracture.
Please advise.

I am in no way an expert, however I also needed a waiver. I had a surgery a while back that dq'ed me, all I did is I sent a letter from my surgeon and general physician stating:

1. The issue not reobtainable
2. I have no lasting symptoms
3. I take no medication for it.

I recieved a waiver very shortly after they recieved the letters. I'm not sure if all 3 of these are applicable to your son's situation, but from what I gathered prior to sending in the letters, these are the 3 main things they look for in "history of" dq waivers.

Hunter the applicant-

If you’d like, you may send me an email:
lawrence.e.mullen.civ@mail.mil; provide complete name and last 4 SSN; provide the text of your Parent's posting above to YOUR email. The subject line of the email should be “reproglej- SAF =Waiver process help.“ Do NOT embed links in your email as I will not be able to view those.:wiggle:

Thanks for your reply. Can we just send it to Dodmerb? Do we use fax or email? What info do we include?

Hunter will be home from practice soon and will be sending you an email. Thanks in advance. We have doctor reports and statements ready, who do we need to send them to? Email or fax?

As Hunter is the actual applicant...I'll give him instructions tonight when he emails me:wiggle:
