Walk-in DoDMERB -- is that right?

My son called the listed medical center to schedule his DoDMERB exam and was told he could walk-in any time between 7am and 7pm M-F. The center he was referred to is in another state (not super far, but over state line) and since he's under 18, I will need to go with him. I need to take the day off work plus pull him from school so I want to be sure he got this right. Is that normal for them to do this as a walk-in appt?

Since DODMETS asks for specific appointment times I would highly recommend you ask them if they would make an appointment day and time for this purpose and to make sure he is able to be seen given your work situation. Good luck!

SnootyHen - Have your son do this:

APPLICANT: If you’d like, you may send me an email:lawrence.e.mullen.civ@health.mil; provide complete name and last 4 SSN; provide the text of your parent's posting above to YOUR email. The subject line of the email should be “SnootyHen- SAF =Walk-in DoDMERB -- is that right? =.“ Do NOT embed links in your email as I will not be able to view those :wiggle:

My daughter did this a week ago. We thought it was strange, but she confirmed walk-in was fine by phone. But, of course, listen to Mr Mullen first and last.
