Walk-on for Fall sport and bringing equipment

My DS accepted an appointment to USAFA (Class 2025) and is considering walking on to a Fall sport. My question is, how does it work with transporting and storing equipment/clothes needed for playing upon arrival at I-day and during BCT?
 
Depends on the sport. My DD is finishing up her first year and some of the sports teams did not allow any walk ons since they had recruited a full roster. If the equipment/clothing will fit in his foot locker then just plan to store it there. After basic you can also ship it to his host family if he has one. The mail room is really backed up at the start of the semester. If a team is talking to him they most likely will have a storage area. For some of the clubs they have designated areas for storage for sports equipment.
 
If you plan to try out right at the beginning of the semester, you can bring your stuff with you and then they will take it and store until you are allowed to use it.
