Anyone have insight on Water Polo at USCGA? From a previous thread I saw that it is a club not listed on their website. Is that accurate still? If so, is it competitive or more recreational?

Any insight would be appreciated!

My son will be playing polo. The team just moved up to a new division. The former coach was given another assignment. The new coach seems responsive. There is very little online, but I think there is a private Facebook page for water polo. Pduddy got some pics about a month ago or so. Looked like a coed practice.

The new water polo coach is SKC Dan Warren. He is the Delta Company Chief and former Cape May Company Commander. He is outstanding. Here is email if you need to contact him: daniel.e.warren@uscga.edu

I also know several cadets on the water polo team if you need any other contact info.

My son played all 4 years (minus the covid shutdown) and enjoyed himself alot. It is competitive and they primarily travel around the New England area for tournaments. They did have one final tournament in Florida in March that they all enjoyed (and I went down to watch). They have an instagram account (cga_waterpolo) that you can follow as well.

My son is on the men’s club water polo team. They dominated their division last year and moved to a new division this year, but due to circumstances with some of the other schools some of the tournaments were cancelled last fall. They went to a tournament in Florida a month or so ago, which was very competitive. They do face challenges with practice space due to the swim team getting the main pool (which of course is logical), but they make the best out of what they have and my son really enjoys it.

The women’s team grew in numbers this year and seem to be doing well.

If you are looking for a bit more USCGA water polo content check out the hype video I made. I also have all this year's men's games loaded to my youtube channel.
